Languages we can offer
Pune draws students, professionals and families from across India, and for many of them English or Hindi is the shared language, even if they grew up speaking something else. Our psychiatrists, four of whom are shown below, consult in English and Hindi, and several also speak other languages such as Kannada, Telugu, Bengali, Odia and Assamese, which may help if you moved to Pune from elsewhere. Marathi is widely spoken in Pune, but no Mindly clinician speaks Marathi yet, so we do not offer consultations in Marathi at present. If that is important to you, tell us on your first call.

Living and working in Pune
- Students living away from home. Pune has many colleges and universities, and a large number of students live in hostels or shared flats, far from family. Exam pressure, loneliness, sleep problems and homesickness are common reasons young people seek help. A video consultation can be done from a quiet corner of your room, and your psychiatrist can follow up when you are back home for holidays.
- A workforce that moved here. Many professionals in Pune came from other states for work. Working far from family, in a city whose main language is not their own, can add to isolation, anxiety and low mood. Speaking with a psychiatrist in a language you grew up with can make the first step easier.
- Choosing your language. If you are more comfortable in a language other than English or Hindi, look at the provider pages for Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and others. These pages list the clinicians who speak each language, and you can consult them from Pune.
- Emergency care. Mindly is not an emergency service. If you or someone else in Pune is in immediate danger, call 112 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department. For free support at any hour, Tele-MANAS (14416) is a national helpline that works from anywhere, including Maharashtra.
Concerns people in Pune bring
The concerns below are among those our psychiatrists see most often from people across India. Each page explains the signs, how it is assessed and what support can look like.
How an online psychiatry consultation works
The process starts with a free pre-consultation call, in which our team learns what you want help with and which language you prefer, then books you with a psychiatrist. The consultation takes place by video. Your psychiatrist takes a history, assesses your symptoms and sleep, explains what they think is happening and agrees a plan. That plan may include medicine, therapy with one of our clinical psychologists or both. Prescribing follows the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020, and you will be told clearly what can be prescribed by video.

Follow-ups, records and a local doctor
If you start medicine, your psychiatrist will explain how it works, how long it takes and which side effects to report, and will review it at follow-up calls. Where blood tests or an ECG are needed, you can have them at a laboratory in Pune and share the results by video. Ask for your prescription and notes in writing if you want a record. Tell your family doctor or college health service what you take, particularly if you have another condition, and let your psychiatrist know about any other medicine, including over-the-counter products.
