Background
Dr. Divya Gurunathan is a gold medalist psychiatrist with an MD (Psychiatry) from NIMHANS. From a young age she was moved by how often mental health struggles go unspoken, misunderstood or dismissed because of stigma, and she was drawn to psychiatry by the possibility of easing that suffering and helping people find their way back to themselves.
She sees every person as unique, with their own experiences, needs and strengths. Her approach is rooted in empathy, compassion and evidence-based care, tailored to each individual. Depending on what may help most, treatment may involve medication, psychotherapy or a combination of both. She offers psychiatric consultations and psychotherapy, including individual and couple sessions, and believes in a safe, non-judgmental space where people feel heard, understood and supported.
I believe small changes can make a big difference. I value every step a person takes towards healing, even when it may seem small to others.
